Jelliedashes - THE UPDATE!!

Jelliedashes - THE UPDATE!!

It seems like one million years since I last blogged. Or at least a few months anyway!! We have recently moved house which has been cause for quite a break, but also all our laptops have broken, leaving only the main computer/tv.
Lately this has mainly been taken over by Dora The Explorer or UmiZoomi. Esme can be very persistant when she wants to be!!

Our new house is pretty much amazing, much bigger than our old place, and not too much more rent. We have a garden/patio space with flower beds which is great! It means not only can I teach Esme how to grow things, I can also learn how to grow things! No, really, I haven't a clue!

Life front isn't going great, coupled with rather crippling anxiety every day is a rather large nuisance. I do think in life though it's good to try and keep going, but it is difficult for sure!

Esme has decided she would rather become a singer than go to sleep at bedtime. It does make me wonder if she will take after her Aunty Claire (and amutaur singer!). You can never tell at this age though! When I was small I wanted to be an Artist, Chef, Writer, Vet, and maybe an alien too. Oh to be small again!

So anyway, I need to start compiling recipes to put on this blog. I am vaguely putting together blog posts, but currently only in my head! I need to find a way to fix our laptop, which died a terrible death when Esme smashed the screen (really need eyes in back on my head!!). She really is a monkey.

So that's about it I think, I will try and post again soonish!!

Ish..

Side Effects Of Becoming A Parent

Side Effects Of Becoming A Parent

So much has changed since I became a mum over 2 years ago. It has been the most amazing experience of my life, so I thought I’d make a list of things that have personally affected me and my husband!
Side effects of 1 child, aged 2 years of age.
Like everything in life, becoming a parents may cause some side effects. If any of the following happens, do a little happy dance.
Common side effects include:
* Immense Joy! – If you are suffering from this, do a happy dance!
Drowsiness – Warning – Being a parent may cause constant drowsiness. Cup of coffee may be needed to counteract this!
Increase of social life – Having to take your child out to baby or toddler groups may increase your social life. This may increase your circle of friends and lead to an increase of (see below)
Excessive cake eating – Because of an increase of your social life, a lot of time will be spent in child friendly cafĂ©’s eating the most delicious cake ever, or sharing your latest bake with fellow mums.
*Relative overload –  The sudden visitation of a large amount of relatives, causing you to run out of milk and tea bags
Constant cuddles – You may find that cuddles are the best thing ever
High tolerance to cleaning up wee, poo, and vomit – It’s inevitable really
*Overload of Peppa Pig - Peppa Pig is a highly addictive television show, to be used sparingly
Uncommon:
Dental problems – An inevitable consequence of too much cake
A consistently untidy house – not having enough time to tidy up is a major side effect of having small children
Unclean carpets – You may want to put down a large sheet of plastic to avoid this side effect – or just buy a carpet cleaner
Confidence rise – An inevitable consequence of socialising at toddler groups
So that’s just a few of the things we have experienced since becoming parents :-) If you have any more, feel free to leave a comment below :-)
